Bruce is a founding member of Steinfeld & Steinfeld, P.C., where he practices family law and serves as Mediator and Guardian ad litem.  Bruce is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has practiced law for over 25 years.  He received his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1988, earning an American Jurisprudence award in his jurisprudence class and serving as an editor of the Emory Journal of International Dispute Resolution.  His B.A. (in English and Philosophy) and M.A. (in Philosophy) were earned from the State University of New York at Binghamton.  Bruce began his legal career in 1988 as Law Clerk for Judge Dorothy A. Robinson of Cobb County Superior Court.  After working as a Shareholder in an Atlanta law firm, Bruce and his wife, Shayna, formed Steinfeld & Steinfeld in 2000.  A frequent lecturer on family law-related topics at continuing legal education seminars both locally and nationally, Bruce served as Chair of the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association from 2004-2005.  He has also served on the Family Law Section’s Civil Rules Committee and as Editor of the Section’s monthly newsletter, The Family Lawyer.  Bruce is a member of the Family Law Sections of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Georgia and Atlanta Bar Association and is also a member of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court.  He has received numerous accolades during his legal career including being selected as one of the “Top 100 Attorneys in Georgia” by Atlanta Magazine in 2011 and repeatedly being designated as one of Georgia’s “Super Lawyers” by Atlanta Magazine and as one of Georgia’s “Legal Elite” by Georgia Trend Magazine.  He is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers for his “High Professional Legal Standards and Ethics.”  Bruce is frequently appointed by the court to serve as Guardian ad litem, representing the best interests of children in custody cases and, in 2003, was named “Guardian ad Litem of the Year” by the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer’s Foundation.  A strong advocate of alternative dispute resolution, Bruce is a registered mediator and is also a member of both the Collaborative Law Institute of Georgia and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.  In addition to authoring several articles on family law-related topics, he and Shayna are co-authors of The Family Lawyer’s Guide to Bankruptcy, a book published by the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association in 2002.
